Cohort 1 of IAPC’s Blended Learning Certificate Course in Basics of Palliative Care Concludes with 100% Success

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of Cohort 1 of the IAPC Certificate Course in Basics of Palliative Care, a rigorously designed 6-month Blended Learning Program, tailored to empower medical professionals in delivering compassionate, evidence-based palliative care.

Launched on January 10, 2025, the inaugural cohort comprised 12 dedicated participants from diverse clinical backgrounds. Of these, 9 candidates qualified to appear for the Final Exit Examination held on June 29, 2025, and we are proud to share that all 9 students passed successfully, with 4 securing distinctions.

This achievement is not just a reflection of academic excellence, but a testament to the holistic and practical learning journey that this course offers. The program included:

• · Structured self-paced online learning modules on an intuitive Learning Management System
• · Weekly live mentoring sessions enabling real-time interaction with national experts
• 12-day clinical attachments at reputed palliative care units across India, offering immersive hands-on experience
• A 2-day in-person Refresher Course, featuring:
  • Engaging case-based discussions
  • High-impact micro-lectures
  • Workshops on setting up a palliative care unit
  • Skill-building sessions on effective communication in palliative care

The Exit Examination evaluated not only theoretical knowledge but also clinical application through Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) stations, ensuring comprehensive assessment and readiness for real-world practice.

This first cohort’s journey was marked by growth, camaraderie, and transformation. For many, the course was a turning point, deepening their understanding of palliative care and equipping them with the tools to deliver person-centred care with empathy, dignity, and clinical competence.
